Text

Dear Friend Kate, Evangeline Brought me two packages of nine o’clock washing-tea and a package of fleas. The fleas are sorely disappointed, they expected having a good time drinking my blood, and now they are gone to glory. I will try the merits of your nine o’clock tea this afternoon, must I remain up until nine o’clock to night [sic] waiting for the result. Well if that is the case I will keep Evangeline with me.
Love to mother, Claret, George, Frank, and Little Kate, mail won’t wait. Good bye God bless you all. Fr. John M. Murphy, O.C.
